Dr. Kate Ersing is a first-year resident at Bastyr Center for Natural Health. They were raised in a working-class city in Western New York where holistic primary care was scarce and community solidarity was strong. They became a clinician to continue community care and advocacy through the access and tools that being a naturopathic physician provides. They deeply enjoy practicing compassionate and creative care within a community health setting here at Bastyr Center for Natural Health and at our offsite clinical partnerships across Seattle. When Dr. Ersing isn't working, they enjoy reading queer sci-fi, hiking, visiting Seattle's farmer's markets, and traveling with their partner.
Clinical Interests
Dr. Ersing's clinical interests include LGBTQ+ health, gender affirming care, sexual wellness, mental health, digestive wellness, harm reduction, diabetes and cardiovascular health.
Healing Philosophy
Dr. Ersing views medical care as a collaborative partnership between you, your care team, and your communities. Their role in this partnership is to support and be present to your emerging needs, concerns, and goals using integrative, evidence based medicine. Dr. Ersing practices from a disability justice framework, acknowledging healing and wellness as value-neutral, subjective ideas linked to access and readiness that may or may not resonate with a patient's goal for care.
