Melinda Bower, ND
Dr. Bower is a first-year clinical resident at Bastyr Center for Natural Health, where she supervises student physicians in the Department of Naturopathic Medicine. She also sees patients in private practice in Practitioner Care at Bastyr Center.
Dr. Bower's clinical interests include include family medicine, women’s health, environmental medicine, autoimmune disease and diabetes. She has additional training in botanical medicine and craniosacral therapy. Her teaching interests and expertise relate to nutrition and botanical medicine and for the prevention of chronic disease.
Dr. Bower's philosophy focuses on finding the root cause of your illness, not just looking at the symptoms. The approach to health is through gentle, noninvasive, therapies that work toward supporting all of your body’s systems. Through this work, she will help you find the ideal state of wellness.
Dr. Bower previously worked as a teaching assistant in the Clinical Laboratory, Physical Clinical Diagnosis, Hydrotherapy, Botanical Medicine, Urology, and CranioSacral Therapy. While a student at Bastyr University, her rotations included Evergreen Health Emergency Room, Swedish Hospital Breast Surgery, and Jefferson County Public Health/Womens Health. Dr. Bower has been a licensed massage therapist since 2008 and had a previous career in Environmental Science for 10 years.
