Miranda Marti, ND, LAc
Dr. Marti is a second-year naturopathic resident at Bastyr Center for Natural Health, as well as a licensed acupuncturist. She was first introduced to naturopathic medicine as a teenager, when her parents brought her to see NDs at Bastyr Center. She currently provides naturopathic medical care and acupuncture treatment at Bastyr Center.
Dr. Marti's clinical interests include anxiety, IBS, stress-mediated disorders, autoimmune conditions, pain management, and assisting people in long-term addiction recovery maintenance. She has completed preceptorships with general and family medicine-oriented physicians, as well as at a center specializing in eating disorder and addiction treatment. She also participated in the 2008 Betty Ford Center Summer Institute for Medical Students.
Her philosophy of health is that in order to successfully diagnose treat a person, you must first understand the root cause of their discomfort. And to understand that, you must look to the mind, body, and spirit, as well as consider how the patient interacts with their environment and vice versa. One of Dr. Marti’s goals in working with patients is to help them change reactive patterns - whether on a physical or emotional level - to proactive and protective patterns that engender a healthy and fulfilling life.
Dr. Marti received her BA in Environmental Studies-Biology from Whitman College in 2003. She received her MS in Acupuncture and her ND from Bastyr University in 2009.
