Steve Given, DAOM, LAc

Dr. Given serves as a clinical faculty member at Bastyr Center for Natural Health, supervising acupuncture and Oriental medicine, Chinese herbal medicine appointments and supervising in the Immune Wellness Clinic program.  In addition, Dr. Given's current appointments include Associate Dean for Clinical Education in the School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and Program Director for the Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine program. He also serves as site visit chair for the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Dr. Given's interests include HIV/AIDS, substance abuse treatment, oncology, Chinese herbal safety, research in acupuncture and Oriental medicine, and the history of medicine.

Dr. Given earned a bachelor's in biology with an emphasis on microbiology from Portland State University in 1987; a master's in traditional Oriental medicine from Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica, California, in 1992; and a doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Bastyr University in 2006.
