Melissa McCarty, ND Dr. McCarty is an adjunct faculty member at Bastyr Center for Natural Health. She sees patients in the Naturopathic Medicine department and also offers her services in Practitioner Care. Dr. McCarty’s practice is enriched by family practice experience in community health care settings, including a two-year Family Practice residency at Bastyr Center. In addition to her current roles at Bastyr Center, she gives health-related lectures around the Seattle area and has had numerous articles appear in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Dr. McCarty’s areas of special clinical interest include Women’s Health, Endocrinology/Hormones, Fertility, Inflammatory and Digestive Concerns. She received a grant to study natural fertility therapies at the Jocelyn Centre in Sydney, Australia. Dr. McCarty enjoys spending time with and getting to know her patients, learning their personal and health histories to aid in discovery of the root causes of symptoms. She believes the body has the power to heal itself, given the proper support, and that it takes a thorough investigation to learn what that support should be, as it is unique to every individual. Dr. McCarty received her ND from Bastyr University and a BS in biology from Auburn University with a focus in Marine Biology. She is a member of the AANP.
