Welcome to Health E-News

Welcome to Health E-News! Holidays and good health care go together. You may not always think of it that way, but there’s no better time to take extra good care of yourself than during a season that can be stressful in so many ways. As the "office bug" circulates, or your children bring home the latest virus, or you find yourself shopping and cooking for others when you really would like to hibernate for the winter, it's important to build your body's resistance. Now is the time to carve out extra time for rest and pampering, to fortify your body with supplements and herbs, and perhaps to drag your tired mind, body and spirit in to see a practitioner for a tune-up!

Along those lines, a few opportunities we're bringing you in this issue of Health E-News include a special sale at our dispensary, where you can save 20% on supplements, great gifts, and other natural care items. We also want to remind you of our affordable counseling services, which can help you sort through your winter blues, deal with the holidays, or talk about the emotional component of your health issues. You'll also find a link to recommended books on natural health, tips for preventing colds and the flu, and natural cleaning recipes to help you prevent mold and mildew from compromising your health this winter. And if shedding a few pounds will help you feel healthier, we have the perfect program for you! Read on…

We have compiled some great recipes for homemade cleaners that can help you eradicate mold and keep the surfaces in your home squeaky clean. Boost Your Energy with an Ancient Chinese Exercise
One way to keep your energy and immunity high this season is to practice qi gong, an ancient Chinese healing art. Traditional Chinese medicine philosophy states that your body has energy meridians through which your "qi" — or energy — circulates. If the channels become blocked, it can result in a variety of health problems. The gentle Chinese practice of qi gong is a great way to free up your qi, curb aches and pains, and help you cope with chronic illness. Follow these instructions for a basic qi gong exercise.
